helpless for time

i held your photograph close to my heart
and fell asleep
that night was the one and one honest dream..
i saw a river coast, the closing skies,
a place nothing short of a paradise..
the cool breeze tickling the leaves
the moon hiding behind the skies
i looked at the birds and they smiled
as if they wanted me to fly..

i saw the stars and whispered your name
a tear heard that and it cried in pain
then a hand touched me and i saw your face..

you did not say a word and the silence prevailed,
you held my hand and asked me to smile..
but i did not.. how could i?
knowing you are here just for time..
i saw your face but i know one thing for sure
in the end i would watch you all go away
slipping away..
i would be so helpless tomorrow
as helpless as i am today..
